You should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive personal information, confidential employer information or personal information relating to colleagues, clients or other third parties.

Tally, for feedback, surveys and other form responses;
Framer, for Website and Programme Hub hosting and technical data;
Netlify, for operation of PDM’s interactive tools;
Notion, where you choose to duplicate or use PDM reflection resources. Content entered into your own Notion workspace is not normally accessible to PDM unless you choose to share it with us; and
analytics and website-performance providers, where enabled.
The exact information received depends on how you use each service and the permissions and settings applied.
Automatically through the Website
Technical and usage information may be collected automatically through cookies, analytics tools, server logs and similar technologies when you visit the Website or Programme Hub.
For more information, see the Cookie Policy.
From publicly available or lawful sources
PDM does not routinely collect personal information from social-media profiles or public databases.
We may occasionally use information that has been made publicly available where it is relevant and lawful to do so, for example when verifying a professional attribution for a testimonial or responding to a business enquiry.
How we share personal information
PDM does not sell personal information.
We may share personal information with trusted Third-Party Service Providers where this is reasonably necessary to operate the Website, process purchases, communicate with you, deliver the Programme, analyse performance or meet legal obligations.
These providers may include:
Stripe, Link and payment partners for checkout, payment processing, transaction support, fraud prevention, refunds and receipts;
Kit for email delivery, subscriber management, customer tags and engagement tracking;
ScoreApp for assessment registration, responses, scoring and results;
Tally for forms, surveys, feedback and Programme activities;
Framer and Netlify for Website, Programme Hub and interactive-tool hosting;
Notion where you choose to access or duplicate reflection resources;
analytics, cookie-consent and website-performance providers;
professional advisers, including legal, accounting, tax, insurance or compliance advisers; and
other suppliers who support PDM’s operations.
We only share the information reasonably required for the relevant purpose.
Where a service provider processes personal information on PDM’s behalf, we expect it to use that information only in accordance with applicable law, its contract with PDM and appropriate security obligations.
Some providers may also act as independent controllers for certain processing. For example, Stripe or Link may determine how they use payment, fraud-prevention or transaction information under their own privacy notices.
We may also disclose personal information:
where required by law, regulation, court order or a lawful request from a public authority;
to establish, exercise or defend legal rights;
to investigate or prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents or unlawful activity;
to protect the rights, safety or property of PDM, customers or others;
in connection with a proposed or completed sale, transfer, restructuring or closure of all or part of PDM, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards; or
where you have specifically asked or authorised us to do so.
We may use and share anonymised or aggregated information for research, analysis, benchmarking, service improvement and marketing purposes, provided that individuals are not reasonably identifiable. This may include publishing combined assessment results, trends, insights or statistics about career ownership and professional development.
We will not publish individual assessment responses, scores, reflections or other personal information without your permission.
How we use personal information
PDM may use personal information to:
operate, maintain and improve the Website, Programme Hub, Interactive Tools and related services;
process purchases, confirm transactions, provide receipts and manage refunds or payment-related enquiries;
provide access to the Career Foundations Programme and deliver Programme communications;
administer the Career Ownership Scorecard, feedback forms, surveys and Programme activities;
respond to enquiries, support requests, complaints and other communications;
manage email subscriptions, customer tags, communication preferences and Programme email sequences;
monitor email delivery, opens and clicks where tracking is enabled;
understand how visitors and participants use the Website, Programme Hub and related tools;
analyse performance, improve usability and develop PDM products and services;
create anonymised or aggregated research, trends, statistics, benchmarking and marketing insights;
prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents and unauthorised access;
maintain business, transaction, tax, accounting, compliance and legal records;
establish, exercise or defend legal rights;
comply with applicable legal, regulatory and contractual obligations; and
send marketing communications where you have consented or where another lawful basis permits this.
PDM will not use personal information for a purpose that is materially incompatible with the purpose for which it was collected unless permitted or required by law.
Lawful bases for using personal information
PDM must have a lawful basis for each way it uses personal information. The lawful basis depends on the purpose of the processing.
Contract
We rely on the performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, where processing is necessary to:
process and administer your purchase;
provide access to the Career Foundations Programme;
send essential Programme and access communications;
provide customer support;
manage refunds, payment issues and complaints; and
deliver the products or services you have requested.
Consent
We may rely on your consent where you:
subscribe to marketing or newsletter communications;
agree to non-essential analytics, performance or session-recording technologies;
agree to the publication of a testimonial or identifiable feedback;
ask us to share information in a particular way; or
otherwise give clear permission for a specific use of your personal information.
You may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent will not affect processing that took place before it was withdrawn.
Legitimate interests
We may rely on legitimate interests where processing is reasonably necessary for PDM’s operations and those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
These interests may include:
operating, maintaining and improving the Website, Programme and services;
responding to enquiries and managing customer relationships;
understanding how people use PDM’s services;
measuring email and Programme engagement where permitted;
developing products, content and customer experience;
protecting the Website, Programme and business from fraud, misuse and security threats;
maintaining appropriate business and operational records;
creating anonymised or aggregated insights and statistics; and
establishing, exercising or defending legal rights.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the purpose of the processing, whether it is necessary and the potential impact on individuals.
Legal obligation
We may process personal information where necessary to comply with legal or regulatory obligations, including:
tax, accounting and financial record-keeping requirements;
responding to lawful requests from courts, regulators or public authorities;
complying with consumer-protection, data-protection and other applicable laws; and
maintaining records needed to demonstrate legal compliance.
Special-category information and legal claims
PDM does not normally intend to collect special-category personal information. If such information is provided and must be processed, PDM will identify an appropriate lawful basis and any additional legal condition required.
PDM may process personal information where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Information required to provide services
You are not generally required by law to provide personal information to PDM. However, certain information, such as your name, email address and transaction details, may be necessary to process a purchase, provide Programme access, deliver requested communications or respond to an enquiry.
If you do not provide information that is necessary for these purposes, PDM may be unable to complete your purchase, provide the relevant service or respond fully to your request.
Email communications
PDM may use your email address to send different types of communications depending on how you interact with us.
Essential and service-related emails
Where you purchase or use the Career Foundations Programme, PDM may send emails that are necessary to provide the Programme or manage your purchase, including:
order and access information;
Programme Hub details and password information;
weekly Programme communications and activity prompts;
service, security or technical updates;
responses to support requests;
refund, payment or transaction communications; and
important changes affecting the Programme or your access.
These emails are part of providing the Programme and are not treated as optional marketing communications.
Newsletter and marketing emails
PDM may send newsletters, product updates, articles, offers or other marketing communications where:
you have consented to receive them; or
another lawful basis and the applicable electronic-marketing rules allow us to do so.
Where PDM relies on the existing-customer “soft opt-in”, marketing will relate to PDM’s own similar products or services, and you will have been given a clear opportunity to opt out when your email address was collected and in each subsequent message.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting hello@thepersonaldevelopmentmission.com.
Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent PDM from sending essential communications needed to deliver a Programme you have purchased, respond to your request or meet legal obligations.
Email engagement information
Where enabled and permitted by law, PDM and its email provider may collect information about email delivery, opens and link clicks to understand engagement, improve communications and manage Programme delivery.
Where consent is required for email-tracking technologies, PDM will only use them after obtaining that consent.
PDM does not currently use customer email addresses for advertising audience matching or targeted advertising on platforms such as Meta or LinkedIn. If this changes, this Privacy Policy and any relevant consent choices will be updated before that processing begins.
How long we keep personal information
PDM keeps personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide services, maintain business records, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
The retention period depends on the type of information and why it was collected.
We may generally retain:
purchase, transaction, refund and accounting records for as long as required for tax, accounting, legal and compliance purposes;
Programme customer and access records for as long as needed to provide access, support the customer relationship and manage any related legal or contractual issues;
Career Ownership Scorecard responses, scores and results for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the assessment, analyse results, improve the service and create anonymised or aggregated insights;
feedback, survey and Programme activity responses for as long as needed to review the feedback, improve the Programme and maintain relevant records;
customer-support and complaint records for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the issue and establish, exercise or defend legal rights;
newsletter and marketing records until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent or we determine that the information is no longer required;
suppression records, containing limited information such as an email address, where necessary to ensure that we continue to respect an unsubscribe or objection request;
testimonial permissions and related records for as long as the testimonial remains in use and for a reasonable period afterwards;
website, analytics and technical information for the period configured within the relevant analytics, hosting or security service; and
consent and compliance records for as long as reasonably necessary to demonstrate how and when a relevant choice or permission was obtained.
Where possible, PDM will periodically review retained information and delete, anonymise or aggregate it when it is no longer needed.
Information may be retained for longer where:
applicable law requires it;
it is needed in connection with an actual or reasonably anticipated complaint, dispute, investigation or legal claim;
it is necessary to prevent fraud or misuse;
you have asked us to retain it for a specific reason; or
it has been anonymised so that it no longer identifies you.
Deleting information from active systems may not result in its immediate deletion from secure backups or third-party systems. Backup copies may remain for a limited period and will not normally be used except for security, restoration or legal purposes.
The detailed retention periods may also depend on the settings and policies of the Third-Party Service Providers used by PDM.
How we protect personal information
PDM takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss, misuse or destruction.
These measures may include:
using reputable Third-Party Service Providers with appropriate security controls;
protecting accounts and systems with strong passwords and, where available, multi-factor authentication;
limiting access to personal information to those who reasonably need it;
using secure connections and encryption where appropriate;
keeping software, platforms and access permissions under review;
maintaining appropriate backups and recovery arrangements where relevant;
minimising the personal information collected and retained;
monitoring for suspicious activity, misuse or security incidents; and
reviewing and responding to personal-data breaches where required.
Payment-card information is processed by Stripe, Link and their payment partners. PDM does not directly receive or store full payment-card details.
No website, online platform or method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. While PDM takes reasonable steps to protect personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where PDM becomes aware of a personal-data breach, we will assess the risk, take reasonable steps to contain and address it, and notify affected individuals or the relevant regulator where required by law.
You are also responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect access information provided to you, including keeping the Programme Hub password confidential and notifying PDM promptly if you believe it has been shared or compromised.
International transfers
Some of PDM’s Third-Party Service Providers may store or process personal information outside the United Kingdom.
Where this happens, PDM will take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer complies with applicable data-protection law and that appropriate safeguards are in place. These may include transferring information to countries recognised as providing adequate protection or relying on approved contractual safeguards.
Further information about international-transfer safeguards is available on request using the contact details at the end of this Privacy Policy.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may have the right to:
request access to the personal information PDM holds about you;
ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
request deletion of your personal information;
ask us to restrict how your information is used;
object to certain uses of your information, including direct marketing;
request a portable copy of information you provided to us where the legal conditions apply;
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
complain to a data-protection regulator.
These rights are not absolute and may be subject to legal conditions or exemptions.
To make a request, use the contact details at the end of this Privacy Policy. Please describe the information or action you are requesting clearly.
PDM may ask for reasonable information to verify your identity before responding to a request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and will explain if we are unable to fulfil all or part of your request.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
Where you object to or unsubscribe from direct marketing, PDM may retain limited suppression information, such as your email address, to make sure your preference continues to be respected.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you are concerned about how PDM has handled your personal information. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first, so please contact us using the details at the end of this Privacy Policy. Further information about making a complaint is available on the ICO’s website.
Business transfers and closure
If PDM is sold, transferred, restructured, merged into another business or operated by a successor, personal information may be transferred as part of that process where reasonably necessary.
Any new owner or operator must use personal information in accordance with applicable data-protection law and the privacy information communicated to individuals, unless a lawful change is made and appropriate notice is provided.
PDM may also share limited personal information with professional advisers or potential purchasers where reasonably necessary to evaluate or complete a proposed transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards.
If PDM closes, we will retain, delete, anonymise or transfer personal information in accordance with applicable law, our legal and record-keeping obligations, and the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Links to other websites and services
The Website, Programme Hub and Programme materials may contain links to third-party websites, platforms or services.
When you follow a link to a third-party service, that provider’s own privacy policy, cookie policy and terms will apply. PDM is not responsible for how an independent third party collects, uses or protects personal information through its own service.
Third-party services used in connection with PDM may include payment, email, assessment, form, hosting, analytics, reflection and interactive-tool providers.
Where a third-party service processes personal information on PDM’s behalf, that processing is addressed elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.
You should review the privacy information provided by any third-party service before submitting personal information to it.
Cookies and similar technologies
PDM and its Third-Party Service Providers may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Website, remember preferences, understand how visitors use the Website and improve performance.
Some cookies are necessary for the Website to function. Other cookies, including analytics, performance or session-recording technologies, will only be used where permitted by law and, where required, after you have given consent.
You can manage your preferences through the cookie banner and, where available, the Website’s cookie settings. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings, although blocking certain cookies may affect how parts of the Website function.
For more information about the cookies and similar technologies used by PDM, including their purposes, providers and retention periods, please see the Cookie Policy.
Children’s privacy
The Website and Career Foundations Programme are intended for adults and are not directed at children.
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase or participate in the Career Foundations Programme.
PDM does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18 through Programme purchases or participation.
If we become aware that personal information has been provided by a person under 18 in circumstances where it should not have been collected, we will take reasonable steps to review and, where appropriate, delete the information.
A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal information to PDM may contact us using the details at the end of this Privacy Policy.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
PDM may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:
how PDM collects, uses or shares personal information;
the Website, Programme, tools or services;
Third-Party Service Providers;
legal, regulatory or operational requirements; or
PDM’s business activities.
The latest version will be published on the Website with the date of the most recent update.
Where a change is material, PDM will take reasonable steps to bring it to the attention of affected individuals, for example by email, through the Website or within the Programme.
Where required by law, PDM will obtain fresh consent before using personal information for a new purpose that relies on consent.
Analytics and tracking technologies
PDM may use analytics, performance and similar tracking technologies to understand how visitors use the Website and Programme Hub, measure engagement and improve content, usability and performance.
These technologies may collect information such as:
pages viewed;
time spent on pages;
clicks and navigation paths;
referral source;
browser and device information;
approximate location;
downloads and interactions with forms or links; and
technical identifiers such as IP addresses and cookie identifiers.
PDM may use providers such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity where these tools are enabled.
Microsoft Clarity may provide heatmaps and session-replay information showing how visitors interact with pages. PDM will take reasonable steps to configure these tools to reduce the collection of unnecessary personal information and to mask sensitive information where appropriate.
Non-essential analytics, performance and session-recording technologies will only be activated where permitted by law and, where required, after you have given consent through the cookie banner.
PDM does not use tracking technologies to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about individuals.
Browser-based “Do Not Track” signals are not interpreted consistently across the industry. PDM instead provides the cookie and privacy controls described in this Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy. Where applicable law requires PDM to recognise a legally valid browser-based privacy preference signal, PDM will take reasonable steps to honour it.
For more detailed information about the technologies used, their providers, purposes and retention periods, please see the Cookie Policy.
