Refund & Cancellation Policy

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Scope of this Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to purchases of the Career Foundations Programme and any other paid digital products or services where this Policy is displayed or linked before purchase.

PDM provides digital content and online Programme access. It does not currently sell physical goods, so there are no products to return by post.

This Policy explains:

  • your statutory cancellation rights;

  • how those rights may be affected when you request immediate access to Digital Content;

  • when refunds may be available;

  • your rights where Digital Content is faulty, inaccessible or not as described; and

  • how to request a cancellation or refund.

This Policy should be read together with PDM’s Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Nothing in this Policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under consumer law.

Definitions

In this Refund and Cancellation Policy:

“Consumer” means an individual purchasing a Programme wholly or mainly for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession.

“Digital Content” means digital materials supplied by PDM, including learning guides, downloadable resources, interactive tools, templates, prompts and other Programme materials.

“PDM”, “we”, “us” or “our” means Rebecca Phillips trading as The Personal Development Mission.

“Programme” means the Career Foundations Programme and any related digital content, communications, tools and activities included in the purchase.

“Programme Hub” means the password-protected online page or replacement platform through which PDM provides access to Programme information, Digital Content and interactive tools.

“Website” means https://thepersonaldevelopmentmission.com, including associated PDM webpages.

“You” means the person purchasing or using a Programme.

Your 14-day cancellation right

Consumers generally have the right to cancel an online purchase within 14 days of entering into the contract, without giving a reason.

For purchases of the Programme, the cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which the contract is entered into.

To exercise this right, you must contact PDM before the cancellation period expires using the contact details at the end of this Policy. You should clearly state that you wish to cancel your purchase and provide enough information for PDM to identify the relevant transaction.

However, different rules apply where you request immediate access to Digital Content.

Where, before access begins, you:

  • expressly request that PDM starts supplying the Digital Content during the 14-day cancellation period; and

  • acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel once supply of the Digital Content begins,

your statutory cancellation right will end when access to the Digital Content is provided.

PDM will confirm this agreement and acknowledgement as part of the purchase confirmation.

If PDM provides Digital Content during the cancellation period without obtaining the required express request and acknowledgement, you may retain the right to cancel.

Nothing in this section affects your rights where Digital Content is faulty, inaccessible, not as described or otherwise does not meet applicable legal requirements.

Immediate access and checkout acknowledgement

PDM may provide access to the Programme and Digital Content immediately after purchase.

Before immediate access begins, you will be asked to:

  • expressly request that supply of the Digital Content begins during the 14-day cancellation period; and

  • acknowledge that you will lose your statutory right to cancel once supply begins.

Where you give that express request and acknowledgement, access may be provided immediately and your statutory cancellation right will end when the Digital Content is supplied.

Your order confirmation will record that you requested immediate access and acknowledged the loss of the cancellation right.

If you do not provide the required request and acknowledgement, PDM may delay access until the 14-day cancellation period has ended.

This process does not affect your statutory rights where the Digital Content is faulty, inaccessible, not as described or otherwise does not comply with applicable law.

Refunds where Digital Content is faulty, inaccessible or not as described

PDM aims to provide Digital Content that is of satisfactory quality, fit for its intended purpose and as described.

Please contact PDM promptly if:

  • you cannot access the Programme or Digital Content;

  • files, links or interactive tools do not work as described;

  • material parts of the Programme are missing;

  • the Digital Content is materially different from its description; or

  • another technical or delivery issue prevents you from using what you purchased

PDM will first take reasonable steps to investigate and resolve the issue. This may include:

  • restoring access;

  • correcting a technical problem;

  • replacing a file or link;

  • providing the missing Digital Content; or

  • offering an appropriate alternative method of access.

Where the issue cannot be resolved within a reasonable time, or without significant inconvenience to you, you may be entitled to a price reduction or refund in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Any repair, replacement, price reduction or refund will be provided in accordance with applicable consumer law and will reflect the nature and extent of the issue.

Nothing in this section limits any statutory rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Goodwill refunds and change of mind

Once your statutory cancellation right has ended, PDM does not normally provide refunds simply because:

  • you change your mind;

  • you decide not to start or complete the Programme;

  • you no longer have time to participate;

  • the Programme is not suited to your preferred learning style;

  • you do not achieve a particular career, employment or financial outcome; or

  • you fail to access or use the Digital Content made available to you.

This does not affect your statutory rights where the Digital Content is faulty, inaccessible, not as described or otherwise fails to meet applicable legal requirements.

PDM may consider a refund or other resolution as a gesture of goodwill in exceptional circumstances. Any goodwill decision will be made at PDM’s discretion and will not create an obligation to provide the same outcome in another case.

Where appropriate, PDM may offer an alternative resolution, such as:

  • restoring or extending access;

  • providing replacement materials;

  • resolving a technical issue; or

  • allowing access to be deferred.

A goodwill refund will not normally be available where a substantial part of the Programme has already been accessed, downloaded or used.

How to request a cancellation or refund

To request a cancellation, refund or other resolution, contact PDM at:

Email: hello@thepersonaldevelopmentmission.com

Please include:

  • your full name;

  • the email address used for the purchase;

  • the Programme or Digital Content purchased;

  • the purchase date;

  • your order or transaction reference, where available;

  • whether you are requesting a cancellation, refund or technical resolution; and

  • a brief explanation of the issue.

PDM may ask for further reasonable information to identify the transaction, verify the request or investigate the issue.

PDM will review the request and respond within a reasonable period. Where a refund is approved, it will normally be issued to the original payment method through the relevant payment provider.

The time taken for funds to appear in your account may depend on Stripe, Link, your bank or other payment providers and is outside PDM’s direct control.

Where only part of the Programme or Digital Content is affected, PDM may provide an appropriate partial refund, price reduction, replacement or alternative resolution instead of a full refund.

Refund processing and timing

Where PDM approves a refund, it will be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase, unless another method is agreed.

PDM will normally instruct the payment provider to process the refund promptly and, where a statutory cancellation right applies, within the period required by law.

Refunds may take several working days to appear in your account after they have been issued. The exact timing depends on Stripe, Link, your bank and any other payment providers involved.

PDM is not responsible for delays caused by banks or payment providers after the refund has been submitted.

Where a payment was made in a currency different from your account currency, the amount you receive may be affected by exchange-rate movements, conversion fees or charges applied by your bank or payment provider.

Access after cancellation or refund

Where a purchase is cancelled or refunded, the customer’s right to use the Programme, Programme Hub and Digital Content ends.

Because the Programme Hub may use shared access credentials, PDM may not be able to technically prevent an individual customer from continuing to access the Programme Hub after a refund or cancellation.

In those circumstances, you must stop using the Programme and Digital Content and must not:

  • access or use the Programme Hub;

  • download further materials;

  • use, copy, distribute or publish Programme materials;

  • share the Programme Hub password or access details; or

  • continue using any licence that depended on the cancelled or refunded purchase.

Any copies of Digital Content already downloaded should be deleted where reasonably possible, except where retention is required by law.

PDM may change shared access credentials where reasonably necessary to protect the Programme, although this may not happen immediately following every cancellation or refund.

Ending the right to use the Programme does not affect any obligations that continue after cancellation, including confidentiality, intellectual-property and misuse restrictions.

Changes to our Refund & Cancellations Policy

PDM may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:

  • the Programme, Digital Content or delivery model;

  • payment or refund processes;

  • legal or regulatory requirements;

  • Third-Party Service Providers; or

  • PDM’s business activities.

The latest version will be published on the Website with the date of the most recent update.

Changes will not reduce any statutory rights that already apply to a purchase made before the updated Policy took effect.

Where a change materially affects an existing customer, PDM will take reasonable steps to bring it to that customer’s attention.
